Let’s Spin-off True Blood

25 Sep

Many of us have already seen the True Blood sit-com, At Merlotte’s (see video below). I’d like to see other spin-offs. Here are some shows I would definitely watch.

Keys to the VIP at Fangtasia

This reality show is filmed on location at Fangtasia in Shreveport, Louisiana. Every night 4 fangbangers are selected and their prowess at enticing vampires observed. Eric, Pam & Chow are our snarky commentators with Ginger as our moderator. Note to film crew, if you do not want your ears to bleed do not sneak up on Ginger.

Low Rent

This musical dramedy follows the exploits of the fabulous hustler Lafayette Reynolds as he tries to find ways to get the heck out of the redneck town in which he lives.

The Magister

This drama follows the lives of four undead vampire advocates as they try to defend their clients who have been brought before the magister by area sheriffs. They quickly learn that the magister cares more about being entertained than dispensing justice, and they alter their defense strategies accordingly.

The Village Idiots

In this sit-com, Jason Stackhouse and Andy Bellefleur unwittingly compete for the title of Bon Temps’ village idiot. One night, Sheriff Dearborn makes a comment to Sookie Stackhouse that her brother Jason is a bigger fool than his right-hand man Andy. They make a friendly wager. Unfortunately, they are overheard by an over-zealous witch who raises the stakes of the bet considerably. At the end of one year, whoever the witch determines to be the bigger idiot will be turned into a jackass and become the witch’s beast of burden for 50 years. Sookie is pretty confident that Jason will not win the prize, but what she didn’t count on was a growing friendship between her brother and Andy.

Extreme Makeover: Vampire Edition

Every week, Vampire spokesperson Nan Flanigan selects a “worthy” fangbanger to be made by the vampire of their dreams. Over the hour, we follow the new vampire as he or she learns the ropes, remakes their home to be vampire-friendly and drainer-proof, finds their favorite blood type of Tru Blood (the main sponsor of the show) and goes speed-dating to find their very own fangbanger.

I’m not there

This psychological drama follows Gulf War veteran Terry Bellefleur as he struggles to distinguish between reality and the mental walkabouts he often takes due to demons from his past, all the while trying to maintain a normal relationship with his girlfriend Arlene and her children Lisa and Coby.

Off with her head

This drama centres around a domestic anti-vampire terrorist cell and their on-going mission to eliminate the members of the royal vampire hierarchy, beginning with the Queen of Louisiana, Sophie Anne LeClerq. Will they succeed? Will the Sheriff of Area 5 stop them before it is too late or will he allow them to complete their mission if it suits his agenda?

Doppleganger

Upon discovering that he has a human lookalike, Eric travels to Hollywood to track down and stalk Alexander Skarsgard. The ancient vampire tries to convince his human ‘twin’ to trade in the sun for the moon and stars, but Alexander will have none of it as he wants to have a family and grow old. Months later, when Eric goes missing, Pam fearing that Chow will make a move  in Eric’s absence, coerces Alexander to come to Lousiana and pose as the Sheriff of Area 5 until Eric can be found.

So would you watch any of these shows or do they sound like really terrible fan-fiction?

Excellent ideas! I love all of them but if I had to pick, I would go with Extreme Makeover:Vampire Edition.
